Sydney, our last stop in Australia

We are so glad we've saved the best till last. Sydney is amazing. We have been to see the HMB Endeavour, Captain Cook's ship. Caught the ferry, went to the market, Cheered in the Plastika, after her 100 day sail fron San Francisco, whilst standing on a submarine.
Had a day at Manly beach and watched Toy story 3 in 3D, we loved this place.

Brisbane

Brisbane was great. We went to Australia Zoo with Sarah and Josh. Got to hold a Burmese Python and Lila cuddled a Koala. We also went to the Museum and went round the Ron Mueck exhibition which was really good.

The Great Barrier Reef

To end the trip up north we all went diving and snorkelling on the Barrier Reef and it is truly great! We have officially lost Ben to the sea - he went extreme snorkelling and swam by a liitle shark! The other 3 were like little fish too.

Meeting new species

While walking on the local beach we encountered the Famille Morris Pontcanus, a day and night of great fun and merriment. But be warned too much exposure to this dangerous breed and you wake up the following day with extreme headaches and dehydration!

Port Douglas

After driving 1800kms from Brisbane we reached Port Douglas. Amazing rainforests ,hot weather, the ducks dressed up and the Crocs were hungry.

Whitsundays

As you can imagine we loved it here. Louis broke the speed record for the boat at full sail reaching 8.2 Knots.

The Whitsundays

Whitehaven beach and beautiful seas

We snorkelled here over amazing bright blue coral and saw lots of angel and parrot fish.

Our lovely skipper Carly and the 3 musketeers. They all had a go at sailing.

Lila's Birthday

The crew, Carly, CJ and the Cooksley clan.

After driving up from Noosa we arrived at Airlie Beach. The campsite had a great pool and we all got to bed early and woke up at 6.30am to wish Lila Happy Birthday! None of the kids knew that we had arranged a special surprise of a 3 day sail round the Whitsunday Islands. Our own skippered boat with snorkelling, secluded beaches, lovely food and great company. Lila said "I've had the best birthday ever" .
